SLFtalk receives an Edublog Awards nomination
We are delighted that SLFtalk has been nominated for an Edublog Award, in the category 'Best educational use of audio'. John and I are passionate about podcasting and digital audio; we feel that the range of technology used by contributors to SLFtalk 'lowers the bar' to publishing a variety of audio online and we hope that others experiment with these ways of gathering voices (John calls it "guerrilla podcasting"!).
Please scroll down to listen to some of the twenty-seven contributions made over the two days of the festival. The rest of this post outlines the EDUtalk project which naturally followed SLFtalk09. Please look out for EDUtalk365 which launches in January, and SLFtalk itself which returns next September.
EDUtalk is a project to gather the voices of educators
EDUtalk is based on the SLFtalk project which recorded the voices of educators attending the Scottish Learning Festival 2009 and can be found at http://EDUtalk.cc and http://twitter.com/EDUtalkr.
>The idea is that anyone can join in and post audio snippets to the site. This can be done in several ways:
- Use your mobile phone to call Gabcast.
- record a voice memo on an iPhone or an mp3 file on a mobile phone, and email it to post@EDUtalk.posterous.com
- record voice onto a digital voice recorder, transfer it to a computer, and email the recording to post@EDUtalk.posterous.com
- use AudioBoo, tagging your recording edutalk.
We are looking for short, 1 - 8 minute audio recordings. You could record:
- A conference session
- chat with the presenter or a collegue after the session
- your own reflections on a session you attended
- your ideas about education
- conversations with colleagues about recent teaching and learning
- a group discussion that you were part of
- a resource for other educators or learners.
